Frequently Asked Questions

These answers cover the most common issues people see when downloading, installing, and using Red Regent Software products. If you do not find your situation here, please use the contact form below and include as many details as you can.

  • I cannot download the installer.
If your browser blocks the download, try choosing “Keep” or “Allow” if you see a generic safety warning. You can also right-click the download link and choose “Save link as…”. If your network blocks the site, try again from a different network.
  • Windows or my browser says the file is “not commonly downloaded”.
This warning often appears for small, independent software publishers. It does not mean the file is unsafe. You can verify the download using the checksums provided on the product pages and Checksum-Aide.
  • My antivirus flags the installer as suspicious or a “potentially unwanted program”.
False positives are unfortunately common for freeware from smaller developers. Make sure you downloaded the installer directly from this site. Then, compare its checksum with the value listed on the product page using Checksum-Aide. If they match, the file has not been tampered with.
  • The installer will not run or exits with an error.
First, confirm that your version of Windows meets the system requirements listed on the product page. Next, try running the installer as Administrator. If an error message appears, please copy the full text of the message into your support request.
  • How do I verify a checksum with Checksum-Aide?
Open Checksum-Aide, add or drag the downloaded file into the file list, and calculate the desired hash (for example SHA-256). Then, compare the value shown with the checksum published on the product’s download page. They must match exactly, including upper/lowercase and all digits.
  • The program installed but does not start or crashes.
Please try restarting Windows first. If the problem remains, note exactly what happens: any error messages, when the crash occurs, and what you clicked just before it. Including this information in your support request will make it much easier to diagnose.

By submitting this form, you agree that your message and any attached files may be used solely to respond to your support request. Please remove or obscure any sensitive personal information before sending.

You can contact Red Regent Software directly using the form on the left or by sending an email.

Support email: percival.blenman@red-regent-software.com

When you write, please tell us which product you are using, your Windows version, what you were trying to do, and any exact error messages shown. Including this information up front often avoids several back-and-forth messages.

Replies are usually sent within a few business days, depending on workload and time zone. Because the software is free and maintained as time permits, there is no guaranteed response time.

A phone number is published on the site for legal and business reasons, but it may be written in a way that is less convenient for automated harvesting. Phone support is not guaranteed; email is always the best way to reach the developer.

Hi there 👋
How can I help you with your support concerns?
System Information We May Request

When a problem is hard to reproduce, detailed system information can make the difference between guessing and quickly finding the cause. You do not need to send any of this until we ask, but having it ready will speed things up.

  • Windows version and edition. For example, “Windows 10 Home 64-bit” or “Windows 11 Pro”. You can usually find this under Settings → System → About.
  • Product and version number. Open the program (if possible) and look for “About” in the Help or menu. If it will not start, let us know roughly when you downloaded or last updated it.
  • Exact error messages. Please copy and paste the full wording of any message boxes, including any error codes or file paths.
  • Steps to reproduce. In your own words, list what you click or type from opening the program until the problem appears.
  • Related files and logs. In some cases, we may ask for a small log file or configuration file. Please do not send anything that contains passwords, license keys, or personal data unless we specifically request it and you are comfortable sharing.

Any information you send is used only to understand and resolve your support request. You are always welcome to blur or remove personal details from screenshots or logs before you send them.
